Nicky represented E|D|G|E at this year’s BASE (British Association of Supported Employment) Conference which took place in Brighton between 9th-10th November. It was a fantastic 2-day event which included plenty of excellent workshops to choose from and some fantastic guest speakers which included Lee Corless- Diversity & Inclusion Lead, JP Morgan, who himself has autism, Steve Mills- Director of IT, DPD Group who has offered many young people with learning disabilities and autism some great opportunities within DPD, and Diane Lightfoot-Chief Executive Officer, Business Disability Forum who gave an update on the collaborative work going on and the latest members news.
Nicky spent her time busy networking and catching up with members and ex-colleagues as well as learning all about what other supported employment providers across the country are doing. Tuesday night she helped award winners to celebrate by partying till late in the night with them. A great evening was had by all. She left the event with lots of new contacts and feeling inspired and ready to collaborate.
